I know you might be thinking that I am a bit too late to review the famous lip creams by NYX. I had been trying my best to lay my hands on one of the most raved about products but sadly they were out of stock for like forever in the market. Nevertheless, I finally found these creams but was a bit overcharged for them.

Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream - Amsterdam & Prague (Left to Right)

Claims: Neither lipstick nor lip gloss, this matte lip cream is a new kind of lip color that goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish. Soft Matte Lip Cream is surprisingly durable and, unlike some matte lipstick formulas, also moisturizing.

Results: The NYX Soft Matte lip cream comes in a round tube packaging with a doe-foot applicator. There are 22 shades in this range and each color is represented by the name of a popular city.

The two beautiful shades that I picked up were Prague and Amsterdam. Prague is a mauve pink which is an everyday wear. Amsterdam on the other hand is an evening wear, a stunning red. I find it as an intermediate between cherry red and tomato red.

The lip cream has a smooth, creamy air whipped texture as its name suggests. The product glides on quickly and sets into a soft matte finish. The shades settle well and do not budge or smudge. Its wear time is for a good 5+ hours without fading. It gets transferred during meals and drinks. The colors after setting tend to cover my pigmented lips well.

Sometimes the matte effect tends to cause a little discomfort and so I prefer to apply some lip balm before applying this lip cream. After some hours it tends to wear off unevenly. To remove the lip cream entirely a makeup remover is required due to its matte nature.

Overall verdict: One of the best NYX products. If you do love matte products you do need to add this to your collection. Thumbs Up!!! Worth the hype
