I recently got an Android phone and was really impressed looking at the features and the applications it had to offer. To start with it supports 4G technology and has an Octacore processor. As it was a new phone I started exploring it a bit more and came across these 5 cool things that I absolutely had to share:

1. Google Goggles - Sometimes it’s difficult to search an object on the basis of its description. However, this Android application allows you to search an image that you have captured with your smartphone. Isn’t that amazing?

2. Offline Maps - So I had learnt this trick from a friend of mine and have found it really handy while going on trips. All you need to do is find the map of the areas you will be visiting and then download them. Later you can use these maps even without a cellular connection or Wi-Fi. To be clear I have tried this trick only on the user friendly Google Maps as of yet.

3. Customised Vibration - Another cool feature that I accidentally stumbled upon was the customised vibration option. Not only can you change the ringtone of a contact but even change the vibration for when they try to reach you. All you have to do is go to Contacts >> Tap on a contact name >> Add Another Field >> Vibration Pattern >> Change default to a customised vibration pattern.

4. Complex Password - I usually have the easiest passwords that nearly everyone can guess until I discovered this feature which lets me replace my normal simple 4 digit password with a complex password. To create a Complex password you have to go to Settings >> Screen Lock >> Select Password and then replace it with any complex password made up of numbers and alphabets.

5. I Can't Wake Up! Alarm Clock – If I had a penny for the number of times I have missed my lectures/work cause I dint hear my alarm ring or I switched it off unknowingly I would surely be a millionaire by now. This life saver of an application will make sure this doesn’t happen anymore as it makes you do one of the 8 mental or physical tasks (as you can see below) to help you wake up.

    I knew about the offline maps. HERE maps come with offline map storage. They are great maps for navigational purposes. Great compilation!!
