Hello Chicsters!
So are you ready with your perfect Diwali outfit for all those reunions and of course selfies that follow them? If not then I have something that may interest you. Picking out a traditional ethnic outfit for Diwali has always been a task for me however, this year things turned out a little different. So now that I have let the suspense build up a little, go on to know more about this outfit and to check out my Diwali look for this year...
But first. for all my friends who are unaware of what Diwali is, let me explain it to you. Diwali is one of the major Hindu festivals celebrated every year in autumn. This festival signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. The festival is celebrated over a period of five days. Dhanteras marks the beginning of the festivites, followed by Naraka Chaturdasi on the second day, Deepavali on the third day, Diwali Padva on the fourth day and Bhai Dooj on the fifth day. On the day of Diwali, people dress up in their best outfits, light up diyas/lamps, participate in prayers followed by firecrackers, a family feast and lots of confectioneries.
This year I decided to check out Biba while hunting for my perfect Diwali outfit and Oh boy I was in love with almost all of their collections! As per me, Biba is one of the few ethnic wear brands that understands the need of being fashion forward by revamping traditional Indian outfits. Recently, this leading Indian wear brand launched its Autumn Winter collection themed ‘You make it more beautiful' that is just in time for the festive season. This collection symbolizes the strength, elegance and beauty of the today's Indian women. Through this collection Biba is celebrating the beautiful feeling of being a woman while acknowledging the fact that its this unique, vibrant nature of hers that makes a BIBA outfit look even more beautiful.
Their collection extends a variety of apparels to suit everyone's style palate. Right from their classic ethnic pieces featuring SKD (Salwar Kameez Dupatta), lehengas, flared skirts, anarkalis to their contemporary ethnic pieces displaying Mix n Match Kurtas, palazzos, asymmetrical kurtas with jackets, everything seems festive season oriented and fashion centric. The collection is an array of soothing yet vibrant colour palette with Blood red, fuchsia pink, rust orange, deep indigo, opulent greens, turmeric yellow that will compliment the Indian skin tone very well.

The outfit featured here is a traditional, dobby weave Straight Polyster suit set with madrin collar and an attractive contrasting hemline. This outfit caught my attention mainly cause of its lively orange colour and the intricate embroidery work on the yoke, making it perfect for the festive and wedding season. Also, can we pause for a minute and just awe at how simple yet gorgeous is that Chanderi dupatta.
To style the outfit I went ahead with Embellished Teardrop earrings from Accessorize and the Marci Crystal Statement watch from the Marc by Marc Jacobs Collection. To finish the look I added a Suede clutch from Esbeda and a gorgeous pair of block printed mojris from Mouve Official. Diwali Look Post | Indian Ethnic Festive Wear #OOTD |
